Methodology
The Wall is a data product. This page says where each fact on a profile comes from, how it is shown, and what we leave out on purpose.
Sources
- Clutch profile: hourly rate band, minimum project size, team size, founding year, Clutch rating and review count, review quotes, service list. A Clutch profile is used only when the website listed on it is the company's own domain.
- Google Business Profile: Google rating and review count, review topics, services, categories, hours. Matched to the company by domain.
- LinkedIn company page: specialties, follower and employee counts, and team size and founding year where Clutch has none. These are labeled LinkedIn on the profile.
- The company's own website: its own description, named clients, and the number of case studies it publishes.
- Search footprint: estimated organic traffic and backlink rank from DataForSEO, used for context and never for ordering.
Each block on a profile names its source and the date it was fetched. Figures are shown as the source publishes them. We do not average, adjust, or round a rating.
Ratings and order
A profile shows a rating only when Google or Clutch publishes one, with its review count. Listings are never ranked by payment. Where a page orders firms (the best-reviewed shortlists on the find pages), the order is public review volume, Google plus Clutch, and the page says so.
Questions and answers
Buyer questions come from Google's search results for each category (the "Things to know" and "People also ask" blocks), pulled once per category. Answers are drafted by a language model from the company's fact record only and checked by script before publication. See the AI disclosure.
What we leave out
Phone numbers, email addresses, street addresses, booking links, and calls to action are removed from every profile, including from a company's own quoted words. The Wall refers no business to a listed company until it has signed a partner agreement; the website link stays.
Which pages ask to be indexed
A profile asks search engines to index it when it carries one of: every published Clutch fact plus a Clutch rating and the company's own description; a Google Business Profile services block with reviews; or a public rating, at least four checked Q&A answers, and two more sourced blocks. Profiles below that line stay on the site and stay linked, with a noindex tag, until more is on record.
Corrections
Correction, November 7, 2026. Before this date, 1,395 profiles showed an hourly rate, minimum project size, team size, founding year, or rating labeled as Clutch data that did not come from the company's Clutch profile. For 825 of them the rate, minimum, and team size were the same placeholder values. We matched every listing against Clutch again, kept Clutch data only where the Clutch profile links to the company's own website (658 more companies now carry it), and removed the rest. Team size and founding year on those profiles now come from LinkedIn and say so. News briefings that used the old figures carry their own correction notes.
